I've wanted to do a "Where the Wild Things Are" piece for a long time, as it was the gold standard of children books in my house growing up. It's a fun book, but for me the illustrations are nothing short of brilliant.
It's a play on the scene in the book where Max is proudly leading the parade of Wild Things... in my version Max is less than thrilled.
fucking awesome, man!!! as expected, the interplay of textures is a masterclass!!! if i were to gripe about something entirely inconsequential, it's that i don't like the fuzzy shadows underneath the wild things... i agree that it needs something, but... i think the shadows need to be flatter (if you see what i mean... not extend so far up the screen) and a little crisper... but minor minor gripe, this image is fabulous. i have such fond memories of this book myself... and i think the film looks like it could be surprisingly good!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
